My business career

Horst Gennert

Since 1961 experience in the tourism-field with travelagencies, airlines, and touroperators. 35 years in a leading position in sales and product-development with a german touroperator who is specialized in the destinations Canada and USA. During the last years mainly experience in developing and supporting of web-based publishings, databanks and in the cross media-field.

Specialized in the destinations: Canada, USA, Yukon and Alaska. Quite intensively I have travelled the “US Heartlands” (Kansas, Oklahoma und Missouri) and established contacts with the tourism-industry. Knowledge of further destinations from personal travels: Germany, Austria, Japan, Australia, Vietnam, Cambodia, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, South America including Cap Horn and the Caribbean. Because of private cruises for more than 200 days at sea I got to know most of the recent fleet of HOLLAND AMERICA LINE. From working as a tour guide I also know the ships of CELEBRITY CRUISES, ROYAL CARIBBEAN from guiding groups around Southamerica including Cape Horn and to the eastern USA and Canada. One of my last extraordinary experiences was in the year 2011 on the MS C COLUMBUS (today MS HAMBURG) of HAPAG LLOYD Germany, to cruise on the Great Lakes from Chicago to Toronto during her last voyage in this region.

Not to forget to mention that I have guided groups on the QUEEN MARY 2 during her transatlantic- and european cruises. Also I had the chance to show tourists the cultural most interesting region of Vietnam and Cambodia.

Since 2010 I am working freelance in tourism-suply and project-support. By using the newest IT-technology like phone, mobilephone and fast 16.000 DSL internet-access, there are the best possibilities of connecting to external web-based databanks and servers worldwide.
